Book Excerpt: Bridge to Terabithia By Katherine Paterson

Bridge to Terabithia is a book I read roughly four years ago. I loved it because of the way it portrayed friendship blooming in the countryside. The simple and warm narrative was another add-on. A great break from run of the mill Vamire-Werewolf laden Young Adult literature. Here are some of the excerpts I adore:

“Ain’t ‘cha gonna run?” she asked.

“No,” he said, shoving the sheet away. “I’m gonna fly.”

“It was up to him to pay back to the world in beauty and caring what Leslie had loaned him in vision and strength. ”

“It’s like the smarter you are, the more things can scare you.”

“Sometimes it seemed to him that his life was delicate as a dandelion. One little puff from any direction, and it was blown to bits.”

  1. No,” he said, shoving the sheet away. “I’m gonna fly – i loved this, i want to use this some day as part of a daily conversation. like at a restaurant, the waiter pushes the bill towards me and i go””no sir, not today, today i fly”
