Book readers and avid fans of literature are suckers for quotes. Some hold on to them forever, some, like me, tend to forget them as soon as they close the pages. Thanks to this blog, I will be able to preserve some of my most favorite quotes, which I have come across while reading or while stalking words on the internet. Take a look and tell me how many of them do you love as well!

Quote: B by Sarah Kay

Because no matter how wide you stretch your fingers, your hands will always be too small to catch all the pain you want to heal. Believe me, I’ve tried.

30 Day BOOKS Challenge – Day 20 and Day 21

Note: Just because the tone of both these challenge questions are quite similar in nature, I have clubbed them into one. Brace yourself, winter is coming this post will be a tad bit lengthy. 😉

While I was scouting for the best ones to put forth, I was literally drooling by merely going through Pinterest book posts. If only I could do that all day long 😀

Day 20: Your favorite quotes about books

You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child. – Dr. Seuss

No two persons ever read the same book. –Edmund Wilson

A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge. – GRRM, A Game Of Thrones/A Song Of Ice And Fire Series

Great books help you understand, and they help you feel understood. –John Green

Day 21: Your favorite quotes from books

Neighbours bring food with death and flowers with sickness and little things in between. Boo was our neighbour. He gave us two soap dolls, a broken watch and chain, a pair of good luck pennies, and our lives. – Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird

There are few people whom I really love and still fewer of whom I think well. – Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

Always. -J.K.Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Book Excerpt: Bridge to Terabithia By Katherine Paterson

Bridge to Terabithia is a book I read roughly four years ago. I loved it because of the way it portrayed friendship blooming in the countryside. The simple and warm narrative was another add-on. A great break from run of the mill Vamire-Werewolf laden Young Adult literature. Here are some of the excerpts I adore:

“Ain’t ‘cha gonna run?” she asked.

“No,” he said, shoving the sheet away. “I’m gonna fly.”

“It was up to him to pay back to the world in beauty and caring what Leslie had loaned him in vision and strength. ”

“It’s like the smarter you are, the more things can scare you.”

“Sometimes it seemed to him that his life was delicate as a dandelion. One little puff from any direction, and it was blown to bits.”

Never Trust Anything That Can Think For Itself If You Can’t See Where It Keeps Its Brain…

“Ginny!” said Mr. Weasley, flabbergasted. “Haven’t I taught you anything? What have I always told you? Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can’t see where it keeps its brain?” – J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
